HCMC TO ALLOW VACCINATED PEOPLE, RECOVERED PATIENTS, AND RESUME MOST ACTIVITIES FROM OCT. 1ST 2021

This morning, Ho Chi Minh City held a press conference to announce a new directive on adjusting safe and flexible adaptation measures, effectively controlling Covid-19 and socio-economic recovery.

Previously, according to a new draft directive that was consulted by the City People’s Committee of the districts, from 0:00 on October 1, Ho Chi Minh City will gradually ease the social distance

HCMC will allow people who have received at least one vaccine shot or recovered from Covid-19 to travel after September 30, but not to leave the city on their own. People are required to practice 5K, keep a minimum distance of 2 meters from others in public places and also when working.

When requested by the authorities, people can show their QR codes health declaration apps to show their vaccination or infection and recovery records. If their records have not been updated online, they can present hard copies.

The city will stop issuing travel papers and will apply information technology in Covid-19 control and inspection instead to reduce trouble for people.

People are not allowed to leave the city on their own and anyone attempting to do so will be stopped at checkpoints at the city gateways, Binh said.

Starting Friday, all inner-city checkpoints will be removed but the city police will maintain patrols to ensure safety, the city’s chairman Le Hoa Binh said at a meeting held Thursday morning to roll out plan on easing Covid-19 restrictions in the southern metropolis from Oct.1.

Activities continue to be suspended: bars, spas, massages, beauty services, on-site catering services, cinemas, club, karaoke, video games; events, cultural, artistic, religious events, meetings, ceremonies (unless permitted by competent agencies); activities of religious, belief and worship establishments; street vendors, activities of other production, business and service establishments.
